It's certainly been a challenging weekend. I managed to ruin 3 canvas's with paint and stabbed a hole in a 3rd one - that one will have to be binned but the other 2 can be salvaged, thank goodness. But on a nicer note, I've nearly got two more paintings ready for ebay, YIPPEEEE!!

Your art is beautiful.
Wondering if you can draw and paint your fish shells boat etc on paper and cut it out and glue on the sea? Use a little colour pencil to darken around the cut outs once glued?
Love the angel with her dog. The wings are so cool also. I hope she will find her surrounding shortly.
Luv and hugs!

I think that looks fabulous! If you wanted to add something to the water I can imagine a cute little fish in mid-jump, with some white where he broke from the water or you could even darken it around the corners like the whole seen is being viewed from a telescope lense. Or maybe all her cute little girlfriend mermaids waving to them as they fly off...You could do so much with such a cute seen! Hope this helps! Stacey
Hi Gail,This piece is great!! The angel adn pup are i darling I mean DARLING!!! And I love texture it gives you a great surface to add soft dry brush too and light white swirls in the water for an over all pattern might be fun too. Just because it is water does not mean it has to be waves and ripple line as the only pattern option it can be what ever over all pattern you want have fun. We the viewer know it is water because of the color and over all imagery. Oh and recently I punched holes on purpose in the canvas so I could add stitching and embellishments I like adding mixed media elements to my paintings the water could have fun shells and blue and green buttons and beads and what ever added the angel and or pup could then have a real bow in the hair and glass glitter or mica flakes on her wings . I love adding 3-d elements to all my pieces and then you could think glass glitter for areas in the water too make the texture part of the piece, Embrace the texture play it up don't cover it up it is there os it was meant to be!!! Oh can you tell I teach ----Tee hee, Sorry if I got a bit passionate. I love to discuss art and artistic possibilities Hugs julie
Julie, I also like to use mixed media but can sometimes get carried away, lol. I will definitely take on board all the great ideas given here and try some of them out! Thanks everyone.
Hugs

Hi Gail, dont throw it away because of a tear, incorporate it into your work. My large canvas was torn and I made it symbolise the tearing of my heart. Your work is beautiful, I love it xx
